When making a music video...?

Question: are there some sort of rules as to when a new scene pops up? like you know when it changes to a different angle? im just making one of my cousins for fun and i wana make it good! so if anyone knows like when i would know to put a new scene in, that would be great! ok thanks
Answers: A lot of times directors change the scene/view/angle when there is a barely noticeable change in the song. For example, a line or verse ends, or the chorus is about to start, or maybe the last few notes of the song are about to play. One thing you want to avoid is changing the scene drastically and at a point where it wouldn't make sense. An example of doing that would be to, at the beginning of a verse, switch from an angle of the vocalist to the guitarist. You also want to make sure the instruments are playing at the right time; check to make sure the vocalist is singing the right words, and that the guitarist is actually playing on the solo. For the guitar/bass/drums, it isn't an absolute necessity that they are playing the right notes, just as long as they are on beat. People generally don't notice things like that very closely.
