Do online magazines count as real magazines?
Answers: they are still magazines arent they? :)
If you asking for school reasons....you may want to ask yur teacher about that one. I had a teacher that said I couldn't use online mags.
If it's not for school reasons I'd say yes.
And no threats of paper cuts.
I guess they do but call me old-fashioned, but I like having something in my hand that I can lie down with
I don't know in what context you mean real .
Online content is not a magazine. It can be an extension of a magazine or used in place of a magazine - as in what they have done with Teen People and a few other teen magazines - but it cannot be called a magazine because it is not issued periodically - there is no issue date. If you were using information to footnote a paper, I am not sure how you would do it.
When advertisers buy on these websites as opposed to placing an ad a magazine, there are different ways of measuring how the audience is counted.
There are digital magazines that can be read on computers using a special digital reader - www.zinio.com and www.newsstand.com. These look exactly like magazines and the pages turn just like a paper magazine. The advertisers pay for audience just like they do with a paper magazine - often these numbers are combined. These are considered real magazines. You can footnote these in a paper just like a paper magazine.
Most magazines have digital editions and this will become more popular as time goes on.
