Girls! What would be your perfect magazine.?

Question: What do you want magazines to have more of in, what don't you like about some magazines? I'm doing some research for my media studies course, we're designing our own magazines. I would just like to know what you would like to see more in them, what size, price, real life stories etc.

Answers: i would like to see more of real people living their real lives, not celeb fantasy lives. Some girly views on cars, fast cars not knitting and cross stitch, some sexy pics of some sexy guys, real guys though, not models.
fashion features but high street prices, not recipes lol.
computing tips for girls not housekeeping.
a girly gadgets section, not just i pods and mp3 players in pink.
music news and reviews and up and coming concerts.
pics of celebs at their worst.
more features on horoscopes and psychic stuff.
website reviews for girls, best sites and such.

i could go on and on.

I'm really fed up with all the adverts in the expensive glossy magazines. Take them out and the mag is a third of the size! Also, the articles are always the same and the clothes and accessories are far too expensive for we mere mortals. I like a magazine to have fashion and hair features for normal people, interesting articles about real women and current affairs, film and book reviews, celeb interviews, recipes, gift ideas etc etc. A good one is Good Housekeeping and also Prima! Thy sound old fashioned but are a really interesting read. By the way I'm 29 and married with no kids yet and I like a mixture of staying in and watching DVDs/reading and going to the pub with friends, cinema and lots of other things. I resent paying more than £2.50 for a magazine. I do buy Now/Heat etc sometimes to catch up on the latest celeb gossip!

You know i've been thinking this for a while.
I think womens magazines are cr@p. Why can't we have something like FHM for girls? I love to read that magazine front to back. It's funny and interesting. I mean come on, who cares where Jordan did her shopping this week?
I suppose I would like a magazine similar to Just17 (don't know about it now but 13 year ago it was great).
With pages filled with half naked DECENT men (not soap stars & Big Brother chumps) instaed of pages of cr@ppy celebreties and watsed space on huge adverts.

i'd like more honesty. i read my brothers mags and i prefer them to girls ones because mens are honest. mens mags say we dont like fat chicks and we do see cellilute where every girls mag is all men dont notice cellulite . people need to be harsh i think, its the real world and too many people are naive. More true stories, more articules on men and problem pages and stuff. i'd like a female version of FHM. Its got loads of things in it, its a really inteligent mag. not just pics of girls but fact, good interviews and realistic.

A magazine with no stick insect models in it for starters! No gossip about celebrities either - there are enough of them about. Something about real people with real stories - not like ones you'd expect to hear off Tricia. I love problem pages (which is maybe why I spend so much time on yahoo answers) so definitely have a problems section.

I'd love to see one that doesn't mention makeup or sex! Or am I pregnant? and I left my 14 kids for the transexual vicar .
Something with thought provoking articles - but then, I suppose, it would apply to everyone and not just girls.

I would personally like to see less pages of diets as they take up too much room and have a different one every week and for the people who need to diet it cant be good for them trying new diet week in week out,
I would like to see more beauty tips, I love to read them, More Agony Aunt pages, (bit of scandal please) Jokes that are actually funny (why are the jokes in girls mags so crap compared to boy mags?)
And lastly lots of true life scandal stories.
Absolutely no celebs what so ever, and get rid of the top tip pages their pathetic

Less unaffordable designer clothes and fashion pages with stuff no one would wear- I'd rather see stuff from Topshop or Oasis, and people dressed like normal girls would dress!

And the makeup ages are always a bit crap. Pages and pages of girls faces and how to get their look, and the looks would only suit people with the exact same colouring as the model. They should show each makeup adapted on all different models with different colouring. Otherwise it just seems irrelevant.

The sex tips are boring. They use the same ones every single bloody time. Honestly, if they can't think of anything new they shouldn't bother.

I'd like to see more stories about current events and not just the same issues over and over again. Every magazine seems to have endless articles about illegal taxis, rape, binge drinking, abortion etc. Not that these aren't important, but girls are interested in more than just women's issues! I'd like to read about political or foreign affairs too.

And also some practical tips on how women can make a difference by helping charities and stuff because there's a lot of opportunity for that stuff at the moment, from knitting jumpers for sick penguins to walking dogs on the weekends, I'd like to read some inspiring stuff about that.

And some original editorial pieces too. They have some good, funny writers on there teams that they could put to better use.

I like some quizzes, about celebrites, the new style for clothes and where to get them. (like what store). And stories about embarassing moments for people. they are funny!

MORE: pics of sexy celebs naked (doesnt have to be compleatly), anything to do with jake gyllenhaal and johnny depp, free stuff, cool internet sites, celeb gossip, interviews with celebs, celebs out and bout pics (real celebs), anything to do with rock, games, quizzes (those last 2 should be about celebs).

LESS: stupid interviews/pics of knowbodys (z listers) like jordan and anyone who was ever on big bro. about 10 pages with nothing but pics of weirdos (models), i mean like one page is enough!!!! talking about how lovely orlando bloom is!!!

Something with more real life situations. And mostly the good ones.

one that gives you the truth about products and up to date fashion for all ages. not interested in stars problems and don't want to see skinny models or people that are 0 they should look at war camps in the second world war /not nice.good information about life is best good healthy recipes etc. Good luck!

I HATE advertisements. They take up most of the magazine. I like to read real shocking stories and like to see what new makeup there is and stuff like that.

no horoscopes - no interviews with Z-list TV types - no diet tips
why not try interviewing some hot male sporting types!! along with pictures of them in their kit? maybe doing a work-out?
or get some advice tips from real readers
and search out best buys that the average reader can afford

i think alot of advice on diff hair styles, diy, make up tips, things that aren't out there, but rather stuff u can actually use. like knowing when u have on too much makeup or knowing what u should accentuate on your face. also pics of hot guys, cuz even though some may deny it we all love to look at them. oh and also cute, affordable clothes.
