What's the first anime you watched and made you interested in watching other anime?

Question: My first anime was DragonBall Z. When I saw the characters moving fast as heck and doing all those martial arts and energy blast, I couldn't believe my eyes. I was thinking who in the world came up with this? At the time, I thought all the animation/cartoons were from America.
Answers: Haha! Good question! My first anime was Sailor Moon. Man, that show rocked! I moved to Tenchi Muyo and then I watched Hamtaro on Tsunami while it aired. I didn't know much about anime or anything but three of my friends intoduced me to Inuyasha in... 5th grade, I believe. I just watched an episode an nodded my head, having absolutely no clue what was going on. I really hadn't paid much attention to it, that is, until my friend brought a Oh! My Goddess! manga to school in 6th grade. Thanks, Rachael! I talked about with some of my friends and I soon found out about FMA and Inuyasha. I scanned sites, trying to figure out more about them and soon caught on to the plot of Inuyasha, which is so dang hard without help! It takes me (literally, I've done it three times) and hour to explain to my friends (and my friend's Aunt Judy!) the structure of that story! I soon became obsessed and then went back to my three friends to talk to them about my newly found interest, only to find out that they were then disinterested. It took some time, but I eventually got them back to watching it, reading fanfics, gushing over everthing that happens, etc. Now I like Inuyasha, DNAngel, and I'll watch FMA every so often. I, sadly, also watch the fruity little animes that are intended for little 5-yaer-old girls; Princess Tutu, Princess Yucci, Angelic Layer, Diamond Daydreams and Kaleido Star. (-_-)' Thanks to one of my friends, Selena, I'm now getting into Furuba. (I started watching it yesterday and I got so into I started embarrassing myself!)

Hehe... I just realized that as I'm writing this I'm wearing the 'Will work for anime' shirt from Hot Topic... how ironic. (^_^)
The first one I watched was also DB, after that was DBZ and GT. Even though I was in love with those before, I didn't really start watching other Anime until Bleach and Love Hina.
Lol I first watched Pokemon ^^ still do
The first series I ever saw was Mazinger-Z, but the one that mede me interested was Robotech
cardcaptor. my friend reccomended it
Pokemon is cool .
My first one was Project A-Ko and it was so different from what I had seen before! The girls where strong (and no sreetching idiots), but still cute and sweet. There was nudity, what was never shown in US cartoons and the action was so cool; not to mention the complete different style.
lol
-Naruto
-Samurai 7 (still watch it)
Tie between Pokemon and Sailor Moon.
Cardcaptor Sakura
I watched sailor Moon on its first run (Before Toonami) but it didn't really make me want to watch more anime. What did was Tenchi Muyo In Love, watched it on Sci Fi Saturday Morning Japanimation. I was like this is interesting, a comedy/drama/romance/sci-fi/etc. And have been hooked ever since.
hahaha. sailor moon, of course! i still love anime. i got the GREAT opportunity to live in japan for three years, so i got to see sailor moon and more EVERYWHERE. it was great. just seeing all the cool characters and super powers they had just boosted my imagination and i wanted to be just like them. my favorite one was sailor moon of course, but i eventually made up my own, lol. you'd laugh at me, but it was sailor io, and io happens to be a moon of jupiter--and i had lava powers! woot! yeah, it got me into drawing, too, and it's one of my favorite hobbies. good question!
The first anime that I ever watched was Thundercats, but I did not get in to the anime stuff until much later when Toonami aired Gundam Wing. I blame my best friend for getting me hooked on that show, and anime in general.
Mine was either DragonBall Z or Pokemon. I think DBZ but I'm not sure. Anyway I wasn't aware of any other animes until my cousins exposed me to Rourouni Kenshin, Fushigi Yugi, and Yu Yu Hakusho. Then I became extremely obsessed with anime in 2002 and learned about some of the coolest anime out there and began to collect manga.
I saw Dragon Ball Z first but INUYASHA, got me interested in others.
YUGIOH!!!
Hands down since I didn't have the luxury of cable like most people had, it was Sailor Moon. For some reason, she reminded me a lot of Punky Brewster which was a very popular idol for girls at the time, plus I liked the 2-d aspect where anything could happen because it's animation and it didn't need any explaination.

Next must have been Dragonball (for a while it was on cable and prime TV, then switched back to only cable), and finally Cardcaptors.
the first anime i ever watched was Dragonball
You have to go back quite a ways for the start of anime. Starblazers was one of the first that you could watch on TV at regular times, but that was a long time ago. That was the first for me. Robotech had me hooked for a while too.
The first one I remember watching was Speed Racer. But I think it goes back further than that, to the anime version of King Kong.
The original Dragon Ball! Oh my God, the fight scenes were so TIGHT to me back then. (And all of my friends thought that I was so weird because I am a girl and I loved that stuff.)
The first ones I saw were Sailor Moon and Pokemon but what actually got me interested in anime was Dragonball Z it was just so cool with all the fighting and super saiyan stuff.
trigun!!!
